Ghostwriter and Freelance writer Hi, there! Welcome to my freelance writing and ghostwriting site. Since, I know you’re on this page to learn a bit about me, let me jump right in.

I’m a former accountant, specifically an assistant controller and office manager for a manufacturing company. But, around 2000, I went off in a new direction – writing. This led me to becoming a multi-award-winning author, ghostwriter, freelance writer, editor, and author/writer online platform marketing instructor.

I’ve lived in NYC all my life, but hope to one day move onto the main land of the USA! That’s another story though. I’m a mother to two girls (they’re adults, but they’ll always be my girls), grandmother to two rough and tumble boys (four and seven), and wife.

Okay, back to more pertinent information about me. :)

I’m the founder and manager of Writers on the Move (http://writersonthemove.com), a marketing group, and my blog Karen Cioffi Writing and Marketing (http://karencioffiwritingandmarketing.com) was honored as Writer’s Digest Website of the Week, June 25, 2012:

writing instruction
writing workshops writing tutorials

Along with this honor, Brian A. Klems, online editor for Writer’s Digest, added a wonderful comment: “This site from Karen Cioffi should stand as a model for other freelance writers.”

As a professional writer, I have years of experience ghostwriting for businesses, health sites, and individuals.

In addition, while it may seem at the opposite ends of the writing pole, I write and edit children’s books. Quite a combination, right? It seems my accounting background works well with the business content, my health concerns help me write effectively on health topics, and my imaginative/creative side take over when writing for children.

In my journey in writing and publishing, I learned a thing or two and now also help other writers and authors create and build an online platform. I present online marketing workshops and e-classes, using webinars, teleclasses, forums, and/or chats for various venues, such as AnyMeeting.com and WOW! Women on Writing.

In regard to my memberships, they include:

National Association of Independent Writers and Editors
Professional Writers Alliance
Freelancers Union
International Association of Professional Ghostwriters
AuthorsDen

For children’s writing my memberships include: the SCBWI, JacketFlap, and more.
